“My journey throughout university was one of the most significant challenges in my life. As the first individual within my family to attend a post-secondary institution, and coming from a family background of high-school dropouts and relatives working in the oilfield/blue-collar industry with no prior history of college or university attendance, I lacked academic guidance at home.
